With Father’s day coming up in June, you’re all probably on the hunt for that special greeting card and unique gift ideas for dad, even though we all know he’s really hard to please!
With this in mind, I’ve been trying to think up the best movie or TV characters who I would love to call dad. They could be funny, tough or just really silly, which fictional dad would you adopt?
Take a look and see what I’ve come up with….
The Tough Father
For the all action type tough guy, always got your back type of dad, you can look no further than Brian Mills (Liam Neeson) from Taken. He may not have any money, but he does have a set of particular skills! Brian is really good at finding things like a lost daughter, so you know you can phone him up if you need help finding your lost keys!
The Persuasive Father
Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker) is the father of Luke & Leia in Star Wars. I hope I’m not giving anything away here (well it is 40 years since ht Empire Strikes Back was released!). Wouldn’t he be great to have on your side when you need to persuade someone to your way of thinking? Got a plumbing quote that’s too expensive? Call up dad and he’ll get the plumber to knock off a massive discount or even do it for free!!
The Billionaire Genius Father
Wouldn’t it be cool to have Tony Stark aka Iron Man as your dad? The man who can afford to buy you anything and if it doesn’t exist he’ll invent if for you! As you saw in Avengers:End Game he found a way to make time travel possible, so I’m sure a few homework questions would be easy for him to answer. No wonder his daughter Morgan Stark told dad ‘I Love You 3000‘.
The Funny Father
This is a tough one to call between Phil Dunphy from Modern Family and Louis Huang from Fresh off the Boat!! Both have their cringe dad moments, but over-all wouldn’t they be fun dads to have? They are definitely the type of dads you know you can turn to when you’re having a rough day and need cheering up. In my opinion, these two are the best movie/tv show dads I would love to adopt 🙂 They are the type of dad you wouldn’t be afraid to send a Rude and Cheeky card to like I mention in my post here 😛
All in all there are so many on-screen fathers to choose from. They may not be billionaire geniuses, tough guys who can beat up 10 bad guys with one hand or even caught out loud funny, but at the end of the day we all know we would find it hard to swap our real life dad’s for any of these.
Yes they may tell cringy dad jokes (you’ll know they’ll appreciate a cheeky card like this) and are embarrassing at times, but they are the ones you can turn to when you need a lift late at night or who will do some DIY repairs in an emergency (ok maybe not DIY!). That’s why we’ll be looking for the perfect card and gifts for Father’s Day, just to say thanks for being there when we needed them.
